Careless Driving Citation in a Wreck
My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of: Florida

Today, my boyfriend and I were driving up a bridge in our city, while the rain was pouring down. There was a car in front of us, and as they braked, my boyfriend did the same. When he put on the brake, the truck began to hydroplane, and we swerved into the left-hand lane, he then begain turning the wheel to the right, and we crossed two lanes into the far right-hand lane. The truck spun out of control and finally collided into the outside barrier of the bridge. Luckily no other cars were involved, and we were not hurt. But the State Trooper issued him a ticket for 'careless driving', simply because he ran into the bridge, and because they would have to call a bridge inspector out. My cousin is a policman and said this is bogus and that we should fight the ticket. Any thoughts?

It's pretty common to get a careless driving ticket after you lose control of a vehicle and crash. If your cousin thinks there's a good factual or legal defense, ask him to elaborate.
