Speeding Ticket With Speed Measured by Aircraft in Washington State
My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of Washington:

So i live in seattle, king county and was headed up to canada, sunday morning. I got a ticket in mt. vernon, which is skagit county. ok officer was on ramp, i saw up pulling up on the ramp to merge on to the hwy. So speed zone is 70 mph. My speed was 70 or 72 mph when i passed him, but he turned on his lights and pulled me over. He gave me a ticket that said i was driving 83 mph. He said an aircraft was following me and telling the officer where i was etc. He checked SMD box violation code 46.61.400 speeding 13 mph over limit (over 40
    bail $144.00

then below officer name and #.

but i know for sure that i was not that fast, but on the ticket nowhere is it listed where the officer was how far was he, etc. I want to contest it but don't know if i should any advice would be helpful. I waS wondering if i could request a deferraL.? (i think that is what it is called?) but it says violation location i-5 nb ref.trafficway - conway m.p 221.00 -- so does this mean that was where he was at or where he gave me ticket.?? im confused! pls help me thank you very much!

    ruby

oh and this is my first ticket i haven't ever gotten one in entire life.
my license is 4 1/2 yrs old. Im gonna be 21 soon in 3 months. so my insurance is gonna go high and high.

The important thing to know about an aircraft-speeding case is that both officers (the one who cited you and the one in the aircraft) need to sign the affidavit, not just the one who pulled you over.

If you decide to contest, file for discovery and make sure both cops signed it. Otherwise, its an easy dismissal.

    Contest contest contest....and get discovery!

There will be an affidavit from the issuing officer, and affidavit from the pilots of Smokey 4 and affidavit of the DOT employee certifying the ASTM marks on the freeway, a certification of the stopwatch the pilot used etc......

lots of information to poke holes in!!!!!!!!
