Worried parent - Daughter Arrested for Shoplifting
This afternoon I got a call at work that my daughter was in jail for shoplifting. She is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and was in the midst of 4 weeks of outpatient therapy (all day every day for 4 weeks) but skipped therapy to drive 4 hours away to an outlet mall, where, I was told she shoplifted.

I called the jail and was told she was being held overnight until she could see a judge tomorrow at 11am. My husband and I driving there tomorrow morning.

We don't know anything at all about the circumstances of the shoplifting. She has never shoplifted before and has no prior offences. We've never come in contact with the law and have no idea what to do.

We live in Texas...any advice on how to handle tomorrow would be greatly appreciated.

You should have a lawyer with you when she sees the judge, her medical condition needs to be a factor in getting her immediate care and out of jail. Good luck, I'd like to know how things turn out if you can post later.
