Getting an Early Discharge from Parole
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon, my younger brother will be getting out next month. He is a first time offender (unlawful use of a vehicle, his girlfriend car) he is hearing a lot of "no he can't's". My family wants to know can he get early termination from parole? Also is there any sevices out there when it comes to finding him a place to stay, since all of my lives out of state?
Re: My Brother Will Be on Parole in March
Parole? So he was in prison, not jail? Then there's a lot more to this story than "a first time offender taking a joyride in his girlfriend's car."
Generally speaking, the answer to the question "Can my brother get off of parole early" is going to be "No, he can't." His parole officer may be able to help him find assistance for housing or job placement.
Once he has a job, a stable, appropriate place to live, has paid off his court assessments, has consistently passed any required drug tests, and has otherwise demonstrated the ability to succeed on parole, he will be in a much better position to try to get an early discharge.
