Caught with a Bowl
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
I was driving with my girlfriend to my house after a trip to the bar. She got pulled over for failure to use her turn signal. The cop claimed that he thought I had a gun so he handcuffed me and searched the car. He found my bowl which of course had resin in it but he found no actual weed. He then released us both she was cited for a traffic violation but I was given no ticket or my license taken away. He confiscated my bowl and told me he would leave it up to a judge if I would get sited for possession.
Since this is my first offense ever I am very scared of what is going to happen. I am not very familiar with the states laws. What could possibly happen to me? What will probably happen to me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Re: Caught with a Bowl
If charged, you would presumably be looking at a misdemeanor. You would then want to explore the possibility of whether or not this was a lawful search and seizure with your lawyer, and if unsuccessful in suppressing the evidence you would want to see if you qualify for a first offender program that might allow you to avoid a criminal conviction.
