    Red Light Traffic Citation
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Arizona

    Hello,

I was home in Arizona for the long weekend, and managed to run a red light; I thought I'd make it before it turned red, and evidently that was not the case. I'm not making any excuses for doing it and I'm not really interested in fighting it since I did legitimately mess up. Unfortunately, I'm in the Army and stationed in Colorado, so I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to show up for court or go to mandatory traffic survival school. On top of that my insurance is already $1,600 every six months, and that's with NO points on my driving record, so I'd rather not add to that if at all possible. I hope someone can shed some light on what I'm supposed to do.

A court appearance would not normally be mandatory for a red light ticket; is it required in your case?

If you want to see if you can get out of the ticket without going to court, consider consulting a lawyer who handles traffic court matters in the county where you're charged. Some attorneys are pretty good at negotiating dismissals.
