Student Visa Holder Marrying a Permanent Resident
I am currently on a student visa.
I wish to marry a person with a green card.

That is once we are married i can stay in the USA and work until i get my green card?
(I know this takes a long time to get a green card but during this time can i still work?)
Also anything i need to be aware of regarding maintaining my immigrant status in the correct way.

    thanks for any help

Marrying a LPR doesn't give you any special status or right to work. Even after he files a petition on your behalf you must maintain your own nonimmigrant status, with whatever right to work or attend school that you have through your own status, until either the priority date becomes current or he becomes a US citizen and upgrades your petition to that of an immediate relative.
