Tax refund offset sent to obligor
Has anyone owed back and current child support had a tax refund sent to the obligor instead of being offset to pay the child support? I was assured by my state child support case worker that I would get my ex's tax refund but it appears that he got it and owes me thousands. This was to be our vacation this year, I don't know what to tell my children now.

Unfortunately, mistakes happen. Somebody, somewhere, probably messed up the paperwork.

    Child Support
I certainly understand that mistakes happen, but I have certainly had more than my fair share with the State and my child support. It would take me a long time to list all the mistakes that the child support office has made on my two cases and taken money that belonged to me, given me money that didn't belong to me and after I brought it to their attention, they FROZE my child support and wouldn't release my money. I am currently receiving no child support and was planning on taking my three kids that still live at home on a vacation, our first one in almost four years. I am sure that my 8 and 10 year old will understand perfectly that "someone made ANOTHER mistake" and we aren't getting the money, therefore no vacation. Thanks you made me feel a lot better!!!!!

How am I supposed to make you feel better? I would get you the money if I could, but unfortunately that is outside of my ability.
