Temporary Job Out of State
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California.
I may have an offer of a job in Alaska for two months this summer as a seasonal guide. I am on my first extension. Will taking a job out of state cancel my benefits or will I be able to just claim my earnings and continue with my benefits when the two months are over?
Re: Temporary Job Out of State
You should be able to report your earnings and, if you still qualify for benefits upon your return to California, reinstate your claim. A case worker may be able to inform you how out-of-state employment would affect your base period and qualification. You can also review this guide.

Before you take that job, read this post from another person on here who took a temp job. She lost most of her benefits because of it.
