    CVC 22349(A) Pacing 79 in 65
My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: CA
The officer claims to have paced me at 79. He pulled me and the car behind me over at the same time. We were at the tail end of the flow of traffic. The officer stated that he "just got on the freeway at the on ramp" and then pulled us over within a quarter of a mile of that on ramp. He came from nowhere. The Notice to Appear has several small items that are not filled out. I do not know what the officer is required to fill out and what he can leave blank. items left blank were Date next to arresting or citing officer. The section that states the radar/patrol vehicle no. is also blank.

Do I have any ways of fighting this? I could lose my job if convicted.

The two important dates are the "date of the violation" and the "promise to appear/pay by".

No requirement for that to be on the citation... You can file an informal discovery request to get that as well as other info if you so choose.

There is always traffic school... Assuming you haven't been in the last 18 months!

If his job depends on it, he's probably a commercial driver and couldn't take traffic school in any case.

VC22349a is an extremely hard charge to beat if the cop shows up to trial. Since your job is on the line, I would suggest hiring an attorney who might be able to negotiate a reduction to a non-moving violation. Most judges are fairly open to cutting breaks for commercial drivers unless the violation is really egregious.
