But, the statement that was made, to whit: "anything you say cannot be used to help clear you in a court of law," is not entirely true because such statements CAN be used to help "clear" someone. Whoa be it to me if I were to receive a statement that provided justification or an alibi - or leads to such - and never provided it to the defense.
