Re: NYC Disorderly Conduct
What else was going on?
Quote:
Quoting New York Penal Code, § 240.20 Disorderly conduct.
A person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof:
1. He engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or
2. He makes unreasonable noise; or
3. In a public place, he uses abusive or obscene language, or makes an obscene gesture; or
4. Without lawful authority, he disturbs any lawful assembly or meeting of persons; or
5. He obstructs vehicular or pedestrian traffic; or
6. He congregates with other persons in a public place and refuses to comply with a lawful order of the police to disperse; or

Disorderly conduct is a violation.
Re: NYC Disorderly Conduct
That's it and nothing more than that.. I came from LA to Ny
for an interview. I don't know the rule that taking a shirt from my cabin luggage and wearing it is an offense in subway station as I am getting late for the interview.. That's how people do it in LA. Even though they check the cameras ..that's what it will be there..
In addition to that..there was no one on the hallway..We can see rarely persons coming into the hallway.I have a court hearing on April 7th. What should I say to the judge.. For this I have to come from LA to NY.
Totally helpless...
Re: NYC Disorderly Conduct
So you were taking stuff out of your suitcase and changing your shirt in a public walkway.... Why not a restroom? And how do the obscene words or gestures come into this?
Consider retaining a lawyer in New York to see if he can resolve the tickets with something short of a court appearance; you may be able to avoid the trip.
Re: NYC Disorderly Conduct
Like the op said there are lawyer who can probably show up for you,the prices probably start at 500 or so,if it's one court apperance. Sometimes the charge is dropped before court or they will give an acd,it will dismiss the charge if you stay out of trouble for 6 months.
