Disorderly Conduct in Philadelphia
Hello, about a year ago I was charged with disorderly conduct in Philadelphia PA. I work 3 jobs and take some college classes at night. I was unable to make my court date. I was curious as to what I would expect when appearing at the warrant office at the court house, being as though it's only a summary offense. Also I was arrested because people were fighting and my girlfriend and I were backed up against a railing b/c of it. I pushed the guy off us and he called my girlfriend some nasty words. I said something back and I was the only one arrested. Is there any way that the judge could see the case in my favor? I know you can not predict, just curious what could possibly happen. I can not miss any time at my jobs b/c I have a family and need the money. Thank you in advance for your insight on this matter.

They will process you and give you a court date. It's best to go early in the morning,it shouldn't be that bad it's only a minor charge. If you plead not guilty you might have to go to court a second time to explain your side of the story. It might not be worth the expense but sometimes a lawyer can appear in court on your behalf. A lawyer might be able to give you a free phone consultation to offer you some useful advice. Maybe you can try and schedule a date when you don't work if it's possible. If you work 9-5,m-f your gonna have to take off from work to resolve it.
I would coincide to the fact your gonna have to miss work,it sucks but having an open warrant is not wise. If you got pulled over for a simple traffic stop going to work the police can arrest you then it looks worse then telling your job ahead of time that you need a day or 2 off. My friend had an open container ticket,a 25 dollar fine and never went to court. He had contact with the police and wound up spending 10 hours in central booking.
