How to Get a Police Report After Expungement
My question involves criminal records for the state of: LA

I have been arrested for misdemeanor in La. The case has been dismissed by DA and later expunged. Now I need to get my police report. Is it possible at all and what should I do to get it?

    Thank you!

Did you have a lawyer represent you? If so, you may be able to get a copy from your lawyer, assuming he still has his file. You can also check with the arresting agency to see if they have a copy under seal, and if there's any way for you to obtain it.

No I didn't have a lawyer. I knew that the charges will not be filed before I actually hired anybody. The arresting agency has no record at all about me, I already checked that. They told me to try DA office. Are there any other places where this report can be stored?

Your guess is as good as anybody else's.

Go to your local police dept. walk in and explain to them that you need a copy of your criminal record. They'd know better than just about anyone here how to help you.

Here in Arizona it was free at the DPS for my state criminal record. For the nation wide record, I needed an FBI back round check, and I needed to get finger printed by the Phoenix PD, that cost $7.00. After the Phoenix PD finger printed me, I sent the paperwork (& finger print card) to the FBI. I'm sure the cost is different in every state.
