Getting an emancipation in Indiana
Alright here is my story and i need some feedback on my chances of getting emancipated.
I live in Jeffersonville, IN. I work at Islamoridia Fish Co. in the bass pro shops. I make $3.50 a hour plus tips. On average i make about $7.00 to $8.00 a hour figuring in my tips. I am working on getting transfered to full time which will be next week. I will be fully insured (medical,dental,life,etc.). I am going to be getting an apartment with my friend and we are going to be splitting the rent. The rent will approx. be $600-$700 a month. I do have a vehical to get back and forth to work.
That is how i plan on being on my own. here is my situation. I cant stand being at my house anymore. I cant talk to my mom with out us getting in an arguement. There is no talking. Its always yelling. My dad is not a real problem. The only thing i dont like about him is he always takes her side but i do understand why. My mom has called the cops on me many of times because i packed my stuff and was going to leave. She hates me. She is going to fight this emancipation as much as she can because she doesnt want me to leave because she wants me to live here and be deppressed. My mom has deppression,bi-polar,and a couple of other disorders. She is on quite a bit of medication. When she runs out of her Zoloft she starts to become angry. And it is always taken out of me. She has told me that i am the biggest disappointment in our family a couple of times. I am out of school right now i dropped out and got my GED. I try to stay away from her as much as i can but when i do have to be home i hate it. Because i know that we will end up yelling at each other or she will call the cops and tell them i am out of control but I dont understand where she is getting that. I work 20-30 hours a week, i come home do my chores and then leave. I used to be out of control but I am fine now. She did catch me selling pot before but i dont do that anymore. She tries to drug test me about once every 2 months and i have not failed one drug test but she swears up and down that i am doing drugs. I cant stand being accused all the time. When she has no reason to say i am. So if someone can tell me what they think my chances are of getting emancipated please tell me or if you have any other questions please ask. Thanks alot
Re: Indiana Emancipation Law
Okay, First I know exactly what you are going through my mother always accuses me of stupid stuff, I think you have a very good chance of getting emancipated although your record may go against you. I would try to hit your strong points really hard and maybe get a couple of people who have saw your mom have these episodes.:)
