Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and Consolidated Student Loans
My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: WA.I was recently discharged of all my debts, except for my consolidated student loans,in which the bank that carried the loan paid the government back about 8 yrs ago.The bank says they got my discharge papers, but they're trying to say I'm still responsible for the loan.Is this true,or do they have to honor the discharge like any other private loan?:wallbang:

Consolidated student loans are generally not dischargeable under 11 USC 523(a)(8). Is your loan listed here?

Also, does your order of discharge specifically identify the consolidated student loan and lender?
