Careless Driving Colorado Springs, Colorado
My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of: Colorado.
I was driving way below the speed limit because conditions were icy at about 11:20 p.m. on a sunday night. My car hit black ice, i hydroplaned, panicked and hit the brakes too hard. My ford explorer ended up doing 180 turn and then flipping on its left side.
I was the only one involved in the accident, I was not injured because I was not going more than 15-20 mph.
The police issued a careless driving ticket without being there. The officer confessed it is the "law" in Colorado because I was from Ca.
I went to trial and was found guilty, 4 points and 245 in fines. I wish to appeal, and did not know I could have had a public defender at the trial.
Is it possible to appeal and win or simply not have 4 points on my record?

This is a misdemeanor conviction under CRS 42-4-1402? You can appeal any conviction, but it would make sense for you to team up with a lawyer. Also, be careful about the deadlines for filing an appeal.
