Problems with Landlord and His Son
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California.
My landlord assumed control of the rental properties and stopped the lawn services, repairs and stopped spraying for bugs because he moved his son into one of the units to take care of these things. His son doesn't do anything! We have a bad roach problem no matter how much we clean and the owner rufuses to spray even after we've bought bug bombs, roach motels and gels to stop it on our end. His son stopped mowing the lawn completely. our front deadbolt doesn't lock and he the landlord was the one that messed it up! He has now been coming over every day to fix up the unit attached to ours but still has not called, written, or even knocked on the door to tend to our problems we had for over a year. When we talk to the rental agency they just say that we need to contact the owner. We've even had to call the police on the owners son because he has parties that start at 2pm and last till 3am. I was thinking about doing the deduct and repair method to fix the problems but i don't know how severe the problems have to be, please give some advice.
