What Does "Warrant Deactivated / Purged Dism Order" Mean
My question is related to the State of Florida.

My friend got arrested for DUI in 1999, bonded, but left to Puerto Rico, so never completed traffic school or anything. In 2003 he got arrested in a different county since a warrant was active for him. He got bonded again an started the probation process but personal circumstances make him travel to Puerto Rico again and did not came back.

Looking at the court dock, the case was closed as of 09/2009 and warrant deactivated. It also says "purg/dism order". deactivated warrant.

What should he expect now? or what he should do?

It may all be as simple as what it says. I would call the Clerk of the Court of the county in question and try to get an employee to explain the status.

Also, in FL some counties (e.g. Monroe), and I think maybe even FDLE, have a warrants database on the Internet. That might be worth checking also.

    Thank you for your response.

I checked on the Sheriff Dept. and the warrant is still active on their database. How long it takes to process the judge order??

Also, when a case is closed it means they move it to the inactive docket?? it means that it can be reopened at any time??

This would seem to indicate that the warrant has not been voided, or that the information has not been properly communicated to the Sheriff's Office.

If a reasonable period of time has already gone by I would try to speak to a live person in the Clerk's Office and find out what their records indicate.
