I am not sure if my last one went through or not but if a child lives in utah and their parents live in nevada ( because the parents sent the child to live with someone else). Which state laws would the child look under if they were going to try and get emancipated. Oh and the child is 17.
If the child is a legal resident of Utah, the child would normally look to the Utah courts. How soon is this person's 18th birthday?
She will be 18 on December 22 of this year. So if she is a legal resident in Utah but her parents that she is trying to be emancipated by live in Nevada,she will look under Utah laws?
As previously stated, she would normally have to file in the state in which she is a legal resident. To the best of my knowledge, Utah does not have a mechanism for the emancipation of minors. She may wish to consult a lawyer in Utah, or if she is still in school to discuss her situation with a guidance counselor.
