Forgot to Hang Placard in Texas
My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: Texas

My mom parked in a handicap parking place in front of my apartment and forgot to hang her placard. It was sitting in plain view in a side pocket of the console of her car. She was issued a ticket and her car was towed, all in one night. The placard is valid.

Is it possible to just take the placard to the court with the ticket to show that the placard is issued to the car in question and is valid and have the ticket dismissed?

If the ticket is dismissed, is it possible to do anything about the towing charges?

    I appreciate any help available.

my mom is on the board of diabilities for Texas and evey month you have the disable come to the hearings and speak on how they never have a place to park and how so many non handicap people park in the spots that why the fee with up now between 600-1,000 so you may get it dismiss you may not but the law is it must be in clear view and if its not you will pay a fine, I am sure this is not what you want to hear but the disable and mayor be stressing this ...sorry!

As the semi-literate prior response suggests, the ticket is valid. It may be possible to get the ticket dismissed or reduced upon presentation of the valid placard, and I think it's worth a try. That won't, unfortunately, do anything about the towing charges.

Thank you for your help. I thought we might be able to do something about the ticket but I had a feeling the towing charges were a done deal.

    I appreciate your advice!
