Juvenile Shop Lift and Lied About Identity. Court in 2 Weeks
:wallbang:My question involves criminal law for the state of: California.
Info:
I am 15
Stole 2 shirts.. 18.99$ each on sale. But I get charged for retail so 30$ each
Shoplifted at Macys.
(I know I'm so stupid for it!) :wallbang:\
When I walked out the store.. The Loss Provention officer of Macy took me back into their office. It was the first time it happened to me so I was scared. I know my mom would be very dissapointed/mad so I lied and said she was in Las Vegas for vocation and had no cell phone. I also lied about my name and address. I thought maybe they would just release me.. But they called the cops. Later my mom called and the police answered, so the truth all came out. My citation had petty theft and false identification. I have court 2 weeks from now and need advice. Anything I could say or do in court that would help me out? They also put it on my record because lieing and shoplifting is 2 misdimeanors. Anyway I could get out of it being on my record? Any advice/experience/help/comments is appreciated.
Also, I think I was arrested. When the police came I was handcuffed and they took my fingerprint.

Never lie to a cop. That is a really bad idea.
When you go to court, plead not guilty and ask for a public defender.
