    UI Benefit and Night/Weekend Class
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California

Has anyone received UI benefits while attending night and weekend vocational classes.?

I've asked two different EDD rep. and both give me the different answer.

1st answer: yes you can attend classes during the week after 6p.m. and do not require to mark item #5. did you begin any type of training and school. Also, weekend class is not allow, they will deduct one day pay on my UI check.

2nd answer: yes, you can, but you need to tell EDD that you are attending evening and weekend class as long as you are not studying for degree, in the mean time they will stop issuing any check until my next interview which can take up to 4 to 6 weeks, once they approve and they will reinstate my benefit with back pay.

anyone here experience what i have experience.? i need your help.

i just got off the phone with another edd rep. thanks for the 1-3-0 trick. the man said i am good to go because my evening and weekend school does not affect my full time seeking employment during the day, plus i do not need to mark YES for attending any kind of school or training. hope these help for others who has the similiar case.

Here's the EDD link on attending school:

    http://www.edd.ca.gov/UIBDG/Able_and...l%20Attendance

The same goes for online classes. You can take online classes. They don't want you attending on campus classes during the day when you should be looking for work. Nights, weekends and online classes they don't care, that's YOUR time.
