What Happens After a Judgement Summary is Granted
OK-I am being sued by a CC company for unsecured debt that I can not pay due to unemployment and health issues. I am currently living below the poverty level, have no checking account, I have a small home with a mortgage and an old car which are covered by Oklahoma Homestead Exemption. What is the process after a summary judgement is granted?

    Thank you,

they attempt to get your money to pay the judgement. I do not know specifically what is allowed in your state but the statute of limitations for a judgement is 5 years and it is renewable. I could not find clarification for the renewal so I do not know if it is once or unlimited. As such, the judgement can be collectible for at least 10 years, if they renew it the once, or, if the renewals are unlimited, they can attempt to collect on the judgment for the rest of your life if they continue to renew the judgment.

so, how long do you intend on being without any money that is attachable?

I am now on SSI income only and that will probably be my only income from now on due to vision problems.

    Thank you for your help!
