If I Get Married Overseas and Not Declare It in the U.S. Would Anyone Know
My girlfriend is from europe and is a dual citizen (US/Europe). I also am a dual citezen but I want to drop one of the citizenships and get european passport so that I could buy real estate there. She knows that and is fine with it. However since she is in grad school for next few years if we were to get married overseas would anyone in the US find out unless we disclosed the information? we dont live together.

Why would you want to keep that secret?

While marriages are a matter of public record all over the world, unless someone stateside went looking into the marriage registries in your hometown, no, no one here is notified of an overseas marriage.
