Grandparent Looking for Visitation
My question involves grandparents rights in the State of: ny, my self and my daughter live in the state of NY. neither of us have every done anything wrong. but she has been spoiled her entire life and has a new boyfried she tends to listen to when they are getting along. For the most part we have a great relationship, but every now and then she gets a bug in her pants and acts like a bratt. she just had her first baby 2 1/2 months ago and everytime she gets mad at me for not buying her something. or for any other reason she holds the baby over my head. one day I can have him for as long as I want and others she says Im never going to see him again. I am so tired of the mind games and the hurt. I would like to know if I have rights to have visitation with my grandson? how hard is it? do I just file at out county family court?
Thank you,

No, you do not have any inherent legal right to visitation with the child. Legally, you are a stranger to the child.
Mind, this does not mean you're not permitted to ask the court for visitation, but absent a longstanding, well-established relationship with the child, the loss of which would be detrimental to the child's best interests, you're unlikely to be granted visitation.
