Disorderly Conduct Immediate Court Date
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia
Hello. My friend was at a college football game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. He was intoxicated. He was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the Atlanta city detention center. This happened Saturday afternoon/evening.
We posted bond for him and he was released Saturday night. He has a court date on Monday at 8 am. He lives in Virginia and was just in town for the game.
We are at a bit of a loss as to how to handle. Does he need a lawyer? Or does he go Monday 8am by himself? It would be a shame to plead incorrectly and/or have a steeper punishment than necessary. But, we really arent sure how to solve. His return to Virginia is now pending this court time.
Any ideas as to what is likely to happen Monday at Court? Is a lawyer recommended, and if so, how do we do that before first thing Monday?
Many thanks,
Joe
Re: Disorderly Conduct Immediate Court Date
Of course he should go to court on Monday morning. That's his court date.
I can't read his court notice from where I'm sitting. I expect it's an arraignment. Tell him to read this.
