North Carolina Repossessed Car
My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: n.c
i owed 2 car payments on my car 1 was 30 days behind the other 7 days behind.my sister received call at 11 at night asking questions about me butthe person would not give his full name his business name or nature of business. She is listed as a refernce.my cell phone was off so they couldnt reach me. my sis told me the next a.m. and i called the phone number he left. i dont believe that he was a repo man caus ehe wouldnt give me the info either. i called the car dealer where i make payments. he said that if i brought in the 2 car payments(600.00) i would be fine and we could make arrangements on paying the repo fee. iwent in gave him the 600.00 , he had already given me10 daysto pay the repo fee but when he printed the receipt he applied 300 to a pmt and 300 to a repo fee. i had a witness there anyway i told him that as we agreed that 600 was to put my car pmt up 2 date . i also asked fro proof that he incured fees in getting a repo man to come out. he refused to change the paperwork to what we had agreed and would not show me any paperwork that showed he hired a repo man to come out. i dont think he hired anyone. do i have to pay a repo fee if the car wasnt repossessed and i wasnt shown proof of an attempt to repo?
Re: North Carolina Repossessed Car
If you caused your lender to incur a repo fee due to your late payment, I would expect that your contract requires you to repay the fee. Read your loan contract.
