Exchange Student with Pending Misdemeanor Charge, Affecting International Travel
    Hello,

I am a full-time (4-years) exchange student from Europe on a F-1 Visa who is graduating in 2 weeks and leaving the United States.
I currently have a court date for a pending simple possession/paraphernalia charge which is my first offense. I was wondering that if I do plead guilty and agree to pay the fine in full if this would have consequences for international travel or me trying to find a job internationally.
The public defender seems as lost as me with this case cuz he never had to deal with the law of nations. My advisor told me to seek assistance by an immigration lawyer but I cannot afford such services.
I would be happy for any advice concerning this matter since I am quite worried about my future :(

Drug paraphernalia conviction will make you deportable & removable from USA.

Now you need a good immigration and criminal attorney to help you with this case.

A: You must change the original charge of drug paraphernalia and reduce it to anything else like disorderly conduct or any other non CIMT or drug related charge B) or to fight this case for not guilty verdict or to and dismiss it via pre-trial diversion in that you need a help of immigration attorney who can tell you what you can take to avoid conviction for immigration.

Conviction for immigration is different then conviction for your criminal case do your research, you must avoid conviction for immigration on this charge.

This is very serious crime for immigrants and there is no waiver for that.

    Good luck

    Hello,

You do need a private consultation with an immigration attorney. Such consultation could cost you $200-300 but its worth it because of your saituation.

    Good luck!
