Shoplifting by a Non-Resident, First Offense
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
Ok, I've already looked up alot of what I could possibly serve. I'm a full-time student, this is my first offense, the value of the items was under $100. I know the law and what I'm looking at but I'm wondering what, in the experience of anybody who answers this, normally happens. Do people in my situation normally serve time or is there normally just a fine given? Also, does the fact that I'm not a resident of the state affect anything?

I want you to try something first.
Up at the top is a brown bar. One of the words on it is "Search".
We have, literally, answered this question thousands of times.

As Jeff said, we literally answer this question over and over and over.
There are also a couple of stickied threads. Read them.
You will likely get the Civil Demand. Pay it immediately. You will also get fines and a criminal record.
The rest: We are not psychic. We don't know if you have a past history, we don't know how tough certain judges are, etc.
We also recommend a consultation with a Criminal Defense Attorney.
