Overstayed Visa and Want to Marry
I came into the US legally as a nanny but when I met my boyfriend, I didn't go back to my country and my visa expired a couple months ago.

We want to get married but we are not sure what the prosedures are and what my status would be after we get married. so my question is : if we get married, does my status change :?:
and if my status does not change what should we do :?: :?

    please help me

Assuming you are speaking of marrying a U.S. Citizen, your status doesn't change automatically but you can apply to adjust your status. I suggest consulting an immigration attorney in relation to the application for adjustment of status. Don't leave the country before you get married, as you will probably both be unable to return and subject to a multi-year period of exclusion from the U.S.

    Hi,

Thank you so much for your advice.
    Yes, my boyfriend is American.

Do you perhaps know if it would be difficult and how long it would take to adjust my status and what would be the worst case scenario?

    thank you again. :)
