Disorderly Conduct and Resisting to a Peace Officer in Illinois
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois.
I did not take my medicine for my mental illness for a while and two weeks ago I got lost on somebody’s property and they called the police then I got arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting to a peace officer. They say in the report that knowingly entered on the property producing breach of peace and causing the alarm, pulling the door of the house trying entering in the house knowing it is not the defendant (me) house. The police brought me to the hospital where I was treated for a week then they released me. I would like to plead not guilty since I did not intend to do anything wrong. I was scarred by my delusions. What should I do?

You need to speak with an attorney who can work on presenting a defense based upon you mental capacity and lack of ability to form the intent to commit a crime.
However, the fact that you chose not to take your medication will likely play against you since such delusions are probably a predictable result of your failure to take the medication.
Consult local counsel ASAP.

How much should I expect to be charged for a lawyer in Chicago area in a case like this?
