    Renters Insurance and Ebay
Has anyone ever heard of Renters Insurance covering items on eBay?
Recently I was defrauded on eBay. Buyer supposedly had his account Hijacked. And now I am faced with the now stolen laptop and loss of cash. Paypal investigated but returned the buyers money in less than a week. I would of been insured through paypal but when I printed out the shipping label it went to supposed customers other 2nd address, in which paypal wouldn't cover. Which is my fault for not paying attention to his second address, only one address was verified through paypal. Be Careful of shipping addresses, and buyers. A great scam he pulled on me and I lost over $1K.

Renter's insurance, as I understand it, is only for items that you own, have in your posession, are covered under your policy, and are lost due to theft, fire, and flood.

Read your policy or call you insurance agent. However, in this case, if you purchased and received a stolen laptop, your recourse is to sue the seller in court.

I would speak with an attorney to see what your rights are and to see if you have any recourse against eBay or Paypal.

You posting is very unclear. Are you saying you sold a laptop and in effect the laptop was stolen from you by this scam? The buyer claimed non-delivery? Or are you saying you purchased a stolen laptop? Big difference.
