Theft over 1,500 under 20K

my husband is on probation for 5 years and was arrested on 2 theft charges. Well this is how it went he went to report for probation and his p.o. told him to do 7 days in jail then he can go to a half way house. The day that he was going to get out they said that he had 2 felony theft charges. Some one said that he had stole some stuff, but he hasen't done any thing. He is wondering what he should do. This is his 3rd felony charge. Any advice???

He needs to get a criminal defense lawyer, either retaining a lawyer or petitioning for a court-appointed lawyer.
