Colorado Not Reporting Out of State Infraction on Driver's Record
My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Washington being a driver from Colorado.
I hold a driver's license from Colorado and received a speeding ticket on the I-5 just north of Seattle, WA for doing 65mph in a 60mph zone with a fine of $93 last week. I've read all the threads regarding asking for a deferral to keep my record clean (as it is now). However, I recently came across this link which states that as long as these minor infraction fines are paid then Colorado will not record them on their state records and thus no points will be assigned to the driver. This sounds too good to be true. Can anyone confirm such a bold statement? Here's the link and an except:

"We contacted the CO DMV to find out what they do regarding minor moving violation convictions they receive in from out of state. The CO DMV representative we heard from stated that if you do not have a CDL and just a regular Colorado driver license, as long as you pay an out of state citation it will not go onto your Colorado driver's record. Since it will not go on your Colorado driving record it will not be assigned points either."

TITLE 24 of THE COLORADO REVISED STATUTES
ARTICLE 60 INTERSTATE COMPACTS AND AGREEMENTS
PART 11 DRIVER LICENSE COMPACT
SECTION 24-60-1105. Offenses - assessment of points.
(1) Those offenses described in article IV (a) of the compact refer only to the following: As specified in sections 42-2-128, 42-4-1301, and 42-4-1603, C.R.S. "Felony" as used in article IV (a) (3) means only an offense which if committed in this state would constitute a felony. No conviction in another state for an offense described in article IV (a) of the compact shall be considered in this state unless the executive director of the department of revenue has made a finding with respect thereto that the prerequisites to such conviction in such other state with respect to trial by jury, burden of proof, and elements of the offense are not less stringent than such prerequisites to conviction for such offense in this state.
(2) The executive director of the department of revenue shall not assess points against the operator's license of any driver because of convictions reported from other states under article IV (b) of the compact.

Of course this does not necessarily mean that your insurance company wouldn't look for violations committed in other states. It just means that Colorado will not assess any violation points for convictions from other states; however, your WA driving record will still show that information. So tread carefully...
Re: Colorado Not Reporting Out of State Infraction on Driver's Record
That's interesting. Hmmm, I reside in CO with a CO driver's license with no ties to WA (i was there on vacation). Therefore, I wouldn't expect my insurance company to pull my WA driving records and thus they shouldn't know about the infraction.
I imagine it depends how CO decides to handle the out of state notification of the driving infraction. Perhaps they may not assign points to the infraction but will make a notation on my driving record that it occurred.
