How to Find a Lawyer Who Will Get a Big Financial Settlement
How can I find an attorney with a successful track record regarding winning cases pertaining to financial issues in divorce cases, especially community/sole and separate issues.
Are there specific degree's for this stuff.
Is it ethical to ask for a record of cases won/lost and compare the types of cases prior to hiring a professional.
Is seems that some attorneys are disliked by judges due to their methods etc.
Any other suggestions of how to screen an attorney for your particular case, are there web sites with case results, or should I go to the local court and ask the secretary who they consider a seasoned well liked family law attorney.
Thanks

The best way is probably by seeking referrals from other lawyers, or failing that from people who have had similar issues in their divorce cases. Consider also looking in the AAML directory.

Not really. You may be able to find a lawyer who holds some form of financial degree or certification - e.g., a lawyer who is also a CPA.

You can ask; but in family law, the lawyer probably can't assemble such a list, and the result would be meaningless. Most family law cases settle, and such a list would tell you nothing about how often the lawyer was able to obtain a favorable settlement. Also, it is unlikely that you will find a lawyer who maintains such a list, or who is willing to expend the necessary time to create one for you.

True.

I don't know that you will be able to get a referral from a judge's secretary, although nothing stops you from asking.
