IRS Denied Marital Status
Hello
I was wanting to know how else can we Prove our marital status to the IRS.
we have sent in certified copies of our marrage records, divorce records from our past marrage.and the irs still says we are not married. The IRs changed our status from married filling jointly to Single. The Irs has also denied my wifes children as being hers. so we lost the child tax credit on top of everything. To prove her childern lived with us for the whole year we have sent in school records, health insurance records, medical records, birth ,s.s copies, their school id's with our address on them, rental agreements with all of our names, birth dates, and s.s. numbers. with all of this information sent in, the irs still calmes we are not married, and my wifes childern are not hers.
What can we do??:wallbang::wallbang::wallbang: Help please.
Thanks
Re: IRS Denied Marital Status
If all else fails, file form 911 with the Taxpayer's Advocate's office. For egregious actions on the part of IRS agents they can help.
