Warrant issued for closed cases - clerical error in records?
My husband is in Jail in Los Angeles on 2 warrants for crimes he committed in 1988. He already served his time for these crimes. We don't see any explanation except a clercial recordkeeping error. He will have a hearing on Monday April 3rd. I have already requested records from the original courthouses and one even confirmed over the phone that his case was COMPLETED & TERMINATED. I will not receive the records in the mail for several weeks. Can you give any advice regarding how to access more details on the original court cases or on the warrants? Is there a website that you can recommend? Will the court already have this information prior to the hearing? Any other advice? Please help!!!

Your husband should hire a criminal defense lawyer or, if he cannot afford one, petition for a court-appointed lawyer.

Have you checked his criminal record to see if it reflects the charges as having been resolved? If so, the prosecutor should be able to confirm that fact.
