When Does ACD Period Start and End
My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
I was charged with petit larcency back in September. I got an ACD in October since it was my first criminal charge, and i have to attend a Stoplift class in November.
My question is, when does the ACD 6-month period start and end? Does it start from the date of my court appearance, or on the day of the Stoplift class?
I need to ask because I need to start applying to jobs soon. I know my situation is extremely bad but I want to apply to large companies back in New York City. I know finance companies are very strict.
So, my plan is to start applying after my ACD period. This will ensure that potential employers won't ban me (which they probably will if I apply before my ACD period is over and they see this and then add me onto their blackmail list).
What do you guys think? This is really stressing me out because I am about to graduate soon. I know I brought this onto myself, and I have realized this over and over again. :(
Re: When Does ACD Period Start and End
I would expect it to start on the date the court adjudicated the case and assigned you to ACD. You should be able to find an exact date in the court file.
Re: When Does ACD Period Start and End
Thanks for the reply. However, I do have to go to court one more time after attending the class. I do not recall the purpose of this. Is my first appearance the "date the court adjudicated the case and assigned you to ACD" or is it this second and final appearance it ?
