I'm Getting Charged with Assault

So im 17 and i was at my friends house and this guy was drunk trying to start a fight ik he tryed to swing at me hes twice my size and i was playing pool and i hit him with a pool stick and broke it over him and his ear was split in half then i started hitting him in the stomach after i seen the damage i was ganna take him to the hospital but he was so drunk hes only 18 i didnt wanna get him any drunk charges or anything so we cleand him up he took a shower in the morning and then we took him there he had a claspe lung and he went got transfer to a bigger hospital but hes out he didnt say anything but i guess the cheif is ahead of the case and trying to get me with the highest amout of assault. please someone give me advise
