Can Physician Group Have Both MERP and HSA
My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Ohio

    Hi,

Can a physician group have both an HSA and MERP at the same time? Are there any guidelines or restrictions to setting these up simultaneously? Are there any IRS publications or sources that detail this issue?

It seems that this is permitable, however, the MERP would not be able to be used to cover the annual deductible of the high deductible health plan. Is this accurate? If there anything further to note?

    Thank you!

Are you asking if a physician can accept money from both an HSA and MERP toward a patient's single procedure? Or are you asking if a doctor's office may set up both Health Savings Accounts and Medical Expense Reimbursement Plans for its employees?

Sorry for the confusion-- I am asking if a radiology practice group can set up both of these plans for the physicians in their practice. Both simultaneously. Thanks!!!
