In A Lot of Trouble in Florida
My question involves criminal law for the state of: florida

I kinda have a long story to share from what happened last nite. Okay, the story starts here and i will honest as it happened.

Last nite my girlfriend brother and i went out drinking we came home and fell asleep. I woke up an hour later and started peeing on the floor and my girlfriend was trying to direct me to the bathroom. I dont even remember how this happened, but I ended up punching my girlfriend 5 times in the chest and pushed her to the ground. She woke him up and he came to me and I went outside and grabbed my axe. I was so trashed i wasnt even thinking of the consequences. but i swung the axe through the backdoor and put a hole in the backdoor.my girlfriend then proceeded to call the cops. i then came inside and swung it at the couch leaving a big rip on it. my girlfriends brother looked me in the eyes and said "your making a big mistake" Once he said that, i realized what I was doing and went outside and got rid of the axe. i tried to come back inside apologizing realizing i had made the worst mistake of my life but the front door was locked.

Where I live it takes atleast 10 minutes for the cops show up since i live in the country. So when i couldnt open the door, I just started running and hid in the woods for the whole nite while the cops were here and fell asleep in some bushes.

I was told the cops were here for over two hours, took pictures of the damages and tried looking for me, but were unsuccessful. I hear the charges against me are Assault and battery with a deadly weapon and battery. They didn't get me on grand theft auto since the car door was unlocked and i caused no damage. I came back a few hours later earlier this morning and my girlfriend broke up with me. We talked it out for awhile and she agreed for her to drop all the charges against me. She also has a trespassing warrant against me. I have been back at home since this morning, but I am going to turn myself in tomorrow night at the local sheriff station to hopefully make it look better instead of them looking for me. I have been very cautious about being outside since i have seen cops creeping around here all day today.

I am curious how much jail time am i looking at? I was arrested 5 years ago for disorderly conduct misdemeanor and served 5 days in jail. I have a bad case of bi-polar disorder and stopped taking medicine after turning 18, but I want to take medicine again to help myself. She wants to drop the charges now and when I get out of jail I'm going to stay here til I find my own place. I am going to reason with everyone tell them i want counseling and help for alcoholics anonymous or something. How do go about dropping these charges?? Someone please help me, I'm not a dangerous or violent person, I have never pushed or punched a woman til last nite. The alcohol makes me into completely different person, especially having bi polar disorder.

i cant afford a real layer either...

First off, dont blame it on the alcohol. That only works in the song. Second, the charges will not be dropped so I wouldnt even consider that one. They cops came out, investigated, and I am sure there is a warrant for your arrest at this time. You gf does not get to tell the DA to drop charges, bc if they feel they have evidence, they will go for it. It seems to me also they have a ton of evidence. After you turn it in, you will get a hefty bond, if you get one at all. Your charged are VERY serious and you need to lawyer up quick. Can not give any advice on what kind of time you could do, but expect prison time or 10+ years probation, or both. I had a Misd DV case last year and got 140. You never know how these things will turn out. Best of luck, and get control of yourself. You are the only one to blame. Not alcohol.
