Two Convictions and Just Went to Citizenship Interview
Hello everyone, I have read a lot of threads from this forum, however I never found any similar case close to mine.

Here is my info, I hope anyone with similar case can share the experiences.

I am an US permanent resident with Green card for 11 years living in CA.

    I have two convictions.
    1) First conviction was in 2002(4th year I live in the US), I was convicted "PC 415 Disturbing the Peace" with 1 year probation and 2 days in jail plus some anger management classes. I had a fight with my gf at that time.
    2) I was charged with "Penal Code 602(k), trespassing" when I forgot to pay for the book at the book store in 2004.

I have renewed my green card about a year ago with no problem at all. So I went ahead applied for citizenship, and just had the interview 6 weeks ago. The interviewer told me he couldn't make the decision due to my convictions and have me to wait for a few weeks.

It has been six weeks without any letter from the immigration office, I am getting worried about the possibility of deportation. Can anyone share any similar experience ?

    Additional Details
For the second conviction, I only fine $100 And 1 year probation.

However I have done a lot of search on the internet. And found something saying " 2 convictions anytime involve in CIMT is deportable regardless of the actual convictions"

I am worried that they look in to the actual case not the final conviction. Still very nervous.

    Thanks a lot.

This is a detailed question on a very particular issue, and generally, in the main, general concepts of law are covered here.

If your are of a Chinese nationality, which I am guessing from the name, there are talk programs on Chinese radio that answers particular questions submitted by readers.

Here in NYC, there is AM 1430 that broadcast in Mandarin, and WZRC AM 1480 that broadcase in Cantonese. I listened to the Cantonese one, and there is a talk program, for one hour, Monday to Friday, coming on at 2:00PM, where they answer particular questions. One area they cover quite a bit, 50% of the hour in many cases, are questions on immigration.

I was a bit busy to listen to it the past year, so I don't know the exact program time now. I know WCRZ AM 1480 is available via internet, and I beleive AM 1430 is also available.

For very particular questions such as yours, they actually consult a law firm. This is one way to get some free legal advice, if they choose to read and answer your question on the air.

On the other hand, if you think you might be in danger of being deported, I can't see why you don't consider the matter important enough to consult an attorney, immediately.

Here's a link showing how to get in touch with the station, "WZRC AM 1480", by phone or mail:

    http://www.nyradioguide.com/cgi-bin/infoam.cgi/WZRC-AM

In the radio broadcast, I usually hear them say "we got a letter from Mr. so and so saying this that and the other thing". They seem to cover questions of all types, including movie ratings at movies since one listener did not know what it means. Usually, a good part of the program covers immigration issues. You can call, but they might ask you to write a letter to be read, if written in Chinese, as most are, or translated on the air.

This a the URL to the radio station to listen to the station on the internet (click the link in it to listen):

This particular program I'm referring to takes place at 2:00PM Eastern standard time, Mon to Fri, when I was listening to it over a year ago.
