A friend has visa to study in US two years ago. He is under 18 year old. His uncle/aunt forgot to renew his visa. He is an outstanding student per school principle:confused:. Is there a chance to renew visa wihtout leaving US.

Odds are, his best bet is to leave the U.S. before he reaches the age of 18 (to avoid having his overstay count against him), then apply to reenter.
Is it his visa stamping or his I-94? Is it by chance his I-20 that is the issue?
Too many people do not realize that these are different. Passport stamping determines entry; I-94 authorizes legal stay. If it is only his stamping that has expired, he needs to get it renewed if he leaves the US with the need to reenter. If it is his I-94, he is accruing illegal stay.
If his school has an office that assists international students, that would be a good place to start looking for assistance.
