My question involves criminal law for the state of: Tennessee
My friends and I were driving and were stopped for the driver not wearing a seat belt. The officer smelled marajuana and asked us to get out of the vehicle and asked if he could search the car. I was in the front passenger seat and a 1/2 joint was found under my rug( that was under my feet) There was also a pill bottle under my seat w/ 2 1/2 Lortabs.( which were not mine.) The officer charged me with simple possession and causal exchange.
What are my chances of getting this dropped/reduced? I was in trouble 2 years ago and my record was expunged.
