My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Florida
To start I got married and had 2 children in N.C. in 2001. My Ex-wife was pregnant when we started dating. She put me on his birth Certificate even thought the child was not mine. We were married for 6 years. In N.C. you have to separate for 1 year before divorce. In those papers I got primary custody of both children and she had visitations. She moved to Ohio and had little contact with them for the first year. Then she tried a little more to be a mother and they visited some. When I got the divorce the court said that we didn't need new custody papers. That the separation agreement will work. A little more than a year ago the children and I moved to Florida.
The first question is do I need to file something down here about the custody?
Second she has had some questionable behaviors such as Drug use multiple boyfriends and now married after knowing someone for about a month. Also has been diagnosed as bipolar schizophrenic. I have major concerns about the childrens well being if they were to visit her. Don't really know what to do?
Lastly I am not the father of my oldest boy but am on the birth certificate. She continually threatens paternity test and to take him from me. He has lived with me for 9 years and the past 3 years it has always been only me taking care of both children with no support from her what so ever. I just really don't know what to do about all this and I have always been with my kids for 9 years now. Any help would be appreciated
Thx
