Court and HYTA
My question is for the state of Michigan
I just received my notification for my arrest in the mail and i scheduled a date for me to go in and surrender myself. I was wondering if you know if anything can be settled outside of court? I have already paid my civil demand and all that is left is to be charged criminally. Will HYTA work no matter what or is there a chance that i say I'm guilty and they don't give me HYTA?

Re: Court and HYTA
You've been charged, so the matter is already in court.
If you're 17 with no prior record, with a decent school and community record, you're in good shape for HYTA, but keep in mind that HTYA is a one shot deal, if you blow your probation you'll end up with a conviction, and that the prosecutor may not even be thinking about HYTA unless you (or your lawyer) ask for it. I recall that there's a thread in this forum with simple HYTA petition that a past member used in representing himself, but consider having a lawyer assist you.
