Show Cause for Violation Probation
My question involves criminal law for the state of: VA
im 20 years old and go to school in virginia. Last spring i was charged with underage possesion and drunk in public, and it was my first offense. I was given probation for a year, complete a class, and 50 hours of community service to complete by sept 1. Stupidly i did not complete all my hours in time, and now have a show cause, which i gather is i return to court to look over my case again. My question is what can i expect? To me it seems ridiculous to recieve jail time or this, though i realize i did not completely abide by the punishment given. i have passed all drug and alcohol tests, and completed the class, and have had no subsequent infractions for anything. what do you think will happen?
Re: Show Cause for Violation Probation
Have you now completed your community service? Try to get it done by your court date.

yeah, im trying. its just that its so hard to fit in hours while taking a full slate of classes and working. at most i can only do a few hours at a time
