How Long Does a D.A.'s Office Take to Contact You

My question involves criminal law for the state of: shoplifting.
I recently was caught shoplifting at a store, but they decided to not press charges and just fine me.
I am worried if that store might find out that I have stolen from there before and they decide to press charges.
How long would it take for me to hear from the D.A. if they did decide to?
