Facing Financial Difficulties and Considering Bankruptcy
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: missouri
I am 33 , worked for Chrysler up until Dec. 2008 currently collecting unemployment, at the moment paying off a credit card and a reserve line at my bank. Also owe the IRS roughly 2800$. I was audited in 2005, and i didn't have enough proof to dispute. June i started having financial difficulty helping my mother while she had surgery. I defaulted on a truck loan to help her keep her car. I financed the truck in 1/2007 paid faithfully and kept the insurance until June 2009. I had contacted the finance company by letter and phone asking for ways to pay them in installments or even refinancing. They told me they cannot help unless i was to bring the payments up-to-date. I agreed to voluntarily repossess. There was no mail correspondence telling me they were coming to pick up the truck. The next week the repo tow truck came to pick up the truck without giving me any receipt or proof of collection. I received a letter saying to a fact that we have your truck pay this much. Then I then got a letter stating i owed 4200$ to another L.L.C. company. I am looking for a loophole of getting out of owing. That said i am looking for a way to straighten out my finances in this rough time. I have read into bankruptcy but don't fully understand. At this moment i do not have any money to tackle these large debts. Any help i would appreciate.
